Undefeated Mexican Jaime Munguia will return to the ring this Saturday, in Ontario, California in a 12 round super middleweight bout against veteran Sergiy Derevyachenko.
The Tijuana native will be making his first fight of 2023 and wants to continue his winning streak, now in this new stage at super middleweight. His most recent fight was against Gonzalo Coria, whom he defeated by knockout last November.
Munguia is ready to adapt to the 168-pound weight class. He is a fighter who has grown a lot in his career and whose fights are quite entertaining for the public due to his knockout capacity and his exchange style.
However, he will not have an easy opponent as he faces the Ukrainian, a strong boxer who has never been knocked out and who has had good fights against opponents like Gennady Golovkin, Jermall Charlo and Carlos Adames.
The bout promises a lot of action and will be the main bout of the event taking place on U.S. soil. Munguia is undefeated with 41 wins and 33 knockouts, while Derevyachenko has 14 wins, 4 losses and 10 knockouts.
