World Boxing Association (WBA) flyweight champion Marlen Esparza will return to the ring on July 8 in San Antonio, Texas, to defend her crown on the undercard of Eimantas Stanionis and Vergil Ortiz’s fight for the WBA welterweight championship in the main event.
Esparza will also put her WBC belt on the line and although her opponent has not yet been officially announced by Golden Boy, it is expected that she could face WBO champion Celeste Alaniz.
Esparza is coming off a tough fight against Venezuelan Eva Guzman last August and after a period of rest she is ready for another high level fight and wants to finish with three belts in her possession if she faces the South American.
The event will be full of great fights and good fighters, so Esparza could not miss this appointment. The champion has a record of 13 wins, 1 loss and 1 knockout in her professional career.
