Featherweight champion Amanda Serrano was awarded the World Boxing Association (WBA) Best of the Month for her victory over Heather Hardy on August 5 at the American Airlines Center in Dallas, Texas.
The Honorable Mention went to the new light minimumweight champion, Yuko Kuroki, who won the belt on the same day against Monserrat Alarcón, in Kobe, Japan.
The Puerto Rican had a great night and dominated the American in her rematch fight to come back in great shape and keep her 126 lbs. belts.
Kuroki, on the other hand, won a majority decision over the Mexican Alarcón in a tough fight in which she had to work hard to win the valuable victory and keep the black and gold belt.
With the inseparable awards of the month, the women’s ranking was also published with all the movements for the month of August, which can be reviewed on the official website of the WBA.
