On Saturday night, under the lights of the glamorous Casino of Buenos Aires, the World Boxing Association KO Drugs concluded with the second day of fights and the attendance of this noble art’s family.
Each stage of this prestigious social festival, which has been supporting different institutions that fight against drugs since the 90’s, was developed with key moments in what has been its third edition in Argentina, ratifying the boxing value of the host country.
Among the events that took place, the World Boxing Association was recognized by the National Congress through the deputy María Florencia De Sensi for its social programme ‘KO Drugs’, where the black and gold belt was given to Celeste Alaniz, the recently consecrated boxer, in recognition of her dedication, fight and perseverance in the sport as an example for the community,
In addition, the following day, in the Barrio 20 of Lugano, in the festival where the WBA KIDS was presented, Fernando Martinez also received his belt, who recently defeated Kazuto Ioka in Japan in July, where he won the super fly unified title.
The first day of fights was successfully completed on Friday and the second day was completed on Saturday with two rounds of fights that showed the local talents that are on the rise and the crowning of two new world champions for the country: María Rivera, interim WBA flyweight and Nazarena Romero as super bantamweight winner.

In 8-round lightweight, from Canada Trevor Thonson (13-0, 10 KO) beat Pablo Villafañe (4-5-1, 1 KO) unanimously.
In bantamweight, Argentinean debutant Junior Narvaes, won his first victory as a professional against local debutant Kevin Varela by unanimous decision after 4 rounds.
In the welterweight category, Lucia Perez from Argentina (4-1, 1 KO) defeated in 4 rounds unanimously to the debutant Josefina Paz.
Lorena Balbuena (2-0) beat her compatriot Viviana Palavecino in welterweight by unanimous decision on the scorecards.
Canada’s Chann Thonson (16-1, 13 KO) was outpointed by local Neri Munoz (16-2, 13 KO) Munoz by knockout at 2 minutes 35 seconds of the tenth round. Muñoz won the WBA Gold Lightweight belt.
Josué Agüero (12-0, 7 KO) knocked out Aztec Jorge Luis Martínez (17-4-1, 11 KO) by technical knockout in the fifth round to win the WBA Fedelatin super featherweight title.
And finally, Canadian Jaquan Carty (7-0, 5 KO) was unanimous winner over Braian Perez (5-1, 2 KO) in 8 rounds for the WBA Fedelatin super middleweight title.
