Yuko Kuroki won the vacant World Boxing Association (WBA) minimumweight world belt after a 10-round unanimous decision over Ye Kyeng Seo on Tuesday at the Korakuen Hall in Tokyo.

After 10 rounds of action, the home fighter earned 96-94 scorecards from all three judges to win the pioneering body’s 105-pound belt.

Kuroki’s goal was clear. She wanted to become world champion again after losing her championship last January to Eri Matsuda by split decision. Getting this opportunity, she knew she did not have an easy challenge against the Korean but she was able to take the victory.

It was a fight with good exchanges and in which both fighters lived great moments, but Kuroki knew how to take advantage of the small details to tip the balance in her favor and become world champion again.

With the victory, the 33-year-old Japanese fighter reached 24 wins, while she has 8 defeats, 2 draws and 10 knockouts. In the case of Kyeng Seo, her record is 7 wins, 1 loss, 3 draws and 5 knockouts.
