Botirzhon Akhmedov and Kenneth Sims Jr. will meet this Saturday night in a World Boxing Association (WBA) super lightweight eliminator fight.
Both will step into the ring at the Cosmopolitan of Las Vegas, Nevada, during the event that will have Rolando Romero and Ismael Barroso contesting the vacant world title of the same category.
Akhmedov restarts his road to another title shot after losing to Alberto Puello in a belt bout in August of last year. The Uzbekistan-born Ukrainian national is a strong, upfront fighter who is always looking for a war and puts on a great show.
Sims comes in with a six-fight winning streak and will face the toughest challenge of his career but knows the rewards could be huge if he wins. The American has experience and wants to take advantage of it in this fight, which will be the co-main event of the night.
Akhmedov has a record of 9 wins, 2 losses and 8 knockouts, while Sims Jr. has 19 wins, 2 losses, 1 draw and 7 knockouts.
