Earlier today fans in Tokyo saw Peruvian world champion Alberto Rossel (32-8-0-1, 13) partake in his public training session ahead of his WBA Light Flyweight title defence against Japan’s Ryoichi Taguchi (20-2-1, 8).
Rossel, the only male world champion in Peruvian history, seemed happy to fight in such a big fight in Japan though promised a win for his fans whilst also stating that he “wants to be famous in Peru” before moving on to politics after his boxing career.
As for the training session Rossel took part in some shadow boxing, skipped rope and hit the bag whilst looking very serious and ready to fight. It seemed clear from his demeanor and general look that he had traveled to win and wasn’t going to be coming home without having given his all against Taguchi in what promises to be one of the best fights over the New Year period.
