This Monday, Mexican Alejandra Ayala has shown great signs of recovery and was taken out of the induced coma after the operation performed last week.
The world title challenger had been admitted to Glasgow’s Queen Elizabeth University Hospital after her fight with Hannah Rankin on May 13. She was placed in an induced coma and underwent surgery pending how she would respond.
After moments of tension and concern, Rankin herself and local promoters reported Ayala’s great progress at the beginning of this week. The Mexican will now remain under observation and is expected to continue to make progress in her recovery as quickly and satisfactorily as possible.
The WBA is grateful for all the prayers on behalf of the Mexican and is closely following the case while celebrating Ayala’s progress in recent days.
