One of the most exciting fighters in the history of international boxing, the Filipino icon Manny “Pacman” Pacquiao, is back in the ring to partake in his twenty-fourth world championship fight on Saturday night at the Arena Garden of the MGM Grand when he defends the Regular Welterweight Title of the World Boxing Association (WBA) against American Adrien Broner.

Just a few days ago Pacquiao turned the clock to 20 years of professional fighting, having won his first world championship at 112 pounds, while he now returns to the ring at the mecca of boxing to defend for the first time the championship of the pioneer organization.

Pacquiao has had a very long and exciting journey. Currently a senator in his native Philippines, the ‘Pacman’ is without a doubt one of the three best fighters of the 21st century as he is a fighter who combines speed, explosiveness, aggressiveness, courage, insight, forcefulness, power, emotion and many more intangibles that have made him a world leader in all of sports.

Pacquiao has faced many other legends of the ring, such as Marco Antonio Barrera, Juan Manuel Marquez, Erik Morales, Ricky Hatton, Oscar de la Hoya, Miguel Cotto, Shane Mosley, Antonio Margarito, Floyd Mayweather, Timothy Bradley, plus many more. He will try to make it clear that he still has enough gas left in the tank to compete with the elites in the sport as he has always done.

For the ‘Pacman’, this contest also represents his return to Las Vegas, a city that opened its doors in 2001 to him and where he has fought on 19 occasions, causing spectacular memories and the largest influx of money on ticket and PPV sales for a single event when he faced Floyd Mayweather Jr. in 2015.

This will also be his twenty-fourth pay-per-view event, which has made him one of the top stars of all time to have sold to more than 19 million households and having long exceeded the trillion dollars mark in sales.

Beyond the historical presentation of the only fighter to have won titles in eight divisions, six of them from the most important organizations, Pacquiao recognizes that he has a major challenge before him in Broner, a four-time world champion himself that is hungry to get the victory.

Broner is top level fighter himself that is capable of the upset. If that happens, Manny’s plans to follow are at risk of suffering a major setback, as there are rumors of another huge showdown with Floyd Mayweather Jr., among other big names such as Keith Thurman, Danny Garcia, Shawn Porter, Errol Spence, Mikey Garcia, and others. So all eyes will be on this PPV event taking place in Las Vegas.
