Mikhail Aloyan became the new Gold Super Flyweight Champion of the World Boxing Association (WBA) by defeating Panamanian native Ronal Batista in Kemerovo, Russia. The local boxer got a unanimous decision with the scorecards reading 119-108, 119-108 and 117-110 to captured the belt in a good demonstration on Tuesday.
Aloyan was dominant from the beginning and managed to implant his authority from the first assault, in which he connected with a left that sent the Central American to the canvas.
Although Batista recovered, Aloyan continued to dominate with relative ease thanks to a good work and backwards movements to avoid the aggressive Batista and in turn hurt him.
The tenth round was another good round for Aloyan, who almost knocked Batista down a couple of times but could not make score the knockdown despite putting a lot of pressure on Panamanian native.
Aloyan now has a record of 5 wins and 1 loss, while Batista now has a balance of 12 wins, 2 losses and 8 knockouts.
