Amanda Serrano has been in all kinds of fights, has fought wars in the ring, has faced the best of several generations and has achieved very important things. However, the Puerto Rican sees in her fight this Saturday against Erika Cruz, the most important challenge of her life.
“I feel ready for Saturday, this is the most important fight of my life,” Serrano assured in an interview with Primera Hora. “It’s been six weeks of very hard work. This is a great moment for me and for Erika. It’s a great platform for both of us. I never underestimate my opponents, God knows Erika is a real champion and she is Mexican, she is strong, she is tough.”
In addition to the great showcase, the Puerto Rican will have the opportunity to become the first undisputed champion of her country, as she could get the World Boxing Association belt, which is the only one missing in her collection.
Serrano has been emphatic that boxing is big business and respect is paramount. That’s why she has referred to Cruz with such kind words in the lead-up to the bout.
Both participated in the Media Day on Wednesday afternoon and posed with their respective belts for the cameras. This Thursday will be the official press conference and tomorrow will be the weigh-in ceremony.
