he World Boxing Association (WBA) held its Board meeting in the city of Ekaterinburg on Monday on the eve of the World Boxing Championship to be held in the same country. The members of the board of the oldest body in the world, those of the Hyatt Regency Hotel, where several topics of vital importance for the AMB were discussed.
Directed by the president, Gilberto Jesús Mendoza, the 28 members of the staff with voting rights exposed key points for the activity and the results.
Carlos Chávez, Julio Quintero, María Borissova, Julio Tomillo, Shivana Inalsingh, Rodolfo Fortich and Luis Pabón were some of the exponents at the meeting. Among the issues raised, we highlight the summary of the Convention of Medellín 2017, the medical situation, the development of the regions, the relevance of referees and judges, the professional integration and the fondness of boxing before the new changes of the discipline in global scope.
For his part, Mendoza reported on a new agreement signed with the International Association of Sports Journalists for boxing to continue being a vehicle for the boxer to be a better person.
The Boxing Fair program was another of the points that was repeated and informed about the changes and the progress it has had since its implementation.
The WBA continues its activities in the coming days and presents itself with different proposals for the benefit of boxing at the World Forum that will begin this week in Yekaterinburg.
