Twenty-year-old prospect Adam Azim captured the World Boxing Association (WBA) Continental super lightweight belt this weekend by defeating Nicaraguan Santos Reyes by a wide unanimous decision at Wembley Arena in London.
Azim was superior in the battle of two undefeated fighters and the 100-89 scorecards from the three ringside judges proved it.
The home fighter was forceful, dominant and landed a knockdown in the second round to cruise relatively comfortably to the end of the 10-round pioneer regional title bout.
Still, it was the toughest fight of all his recent fights and the only one of his last seven that he has failed to finish by knockout.
His undefeated record stands at 8 fights, with 6 knockouts. Reyes has a record of 12 wins, 1 loss and 3 knockouts.
