World Boxing Association (WBA) featherweight champion, British Nick Ball, is ready to return to the ring on March 15 to defend his black and gold belt against T.J. Doheny.
For Ball it will be the second defense of his crown and it will be in Liverpool, his birthplace, which is also where he made his first title exhibition.
The 27-year-old fighter has been champion since June last year when he defeated Raymond Ford in a close decision to take the crown at the Riyadh Season 5vs5 event. In October he returned to the ring and defended his belt at home against veteran Ronny Rios and now he will go for another fight.
His opponent this time will be Doheny, an Australian well known for his multiple championship bouts and for having been a world champion. He has won three of his last four fights, except for his most recent against Naoya Inoue, but he wants to take advantage of this opportunity as a featherweight challenger.
Ball has a record of 21 wins, no losses, 1 draw and 12 knockouts. In Doheny’s case, he has 26 wins, 5 losses and 20 knockouts.
