The Juges scored a Split decision in favor of the Mexican-American boxer, however he is not the World Champion.

The former world champion Brandon “Bam Bam” Ríos defeated Richard Abril by Split Decision in a fight that took place at the Mandalay Bay in Las Vegas. 

The judges scored the fight 116-112, 115-113, for Rios and one 117-111 against, however, the title will continues vacant since he Texan boxer did not make the weight on Friday.   

After the fight April said, “I can only say is that this decision was very unfortunate.  I won the fight for at least four or five rounds” now his record is, 17-3-1, 8 KO.

On the other hand, Ríos, improved his record to 30 wins, no defeats assured that he will go up to 140 lbs. Also said, “Abril did not come to fight” then said, “Abril has a very strange style took lot. The referee should have punished him but didn’t make the weight did not drained me, I feel good. This was not my best fight but I am pleased with my performance. I will move up to 140 lbs. 140 lbs. here I come”

Las tarjetas de los jueces de Las Vegas favorecieron al boxeador mexicoestadounidense, con un fallo dividido, pero no es campeón mundial ligero.

El boxeador, ex campeón mundial, Brandon “Bam Bam” Ríos venció en decisión dividida al cubano Richard Abril, en una pelea realizada la noche del sábado en el Mandalay Bay, de Las Vegas.

Los jueces decidieron que Ríos era el ganador del combate que definiría el monarca de las 135 libras de la Asociación Mundial de Boxeo. Aunque Ríos ganó 116-112,  115-113, y una tarjeta en contra 117-111, el título seguirá vacante porque el boxeador texano no pudo hacer el peso, el viernes pasado.

Tras el combate, Abril dijo: “Lo único que puedo decir de esta decisión es que fue infortunada. Yo gané esta pelea por al menos cuatro o cinco rounds”, y queda con un registro personal de 17-3-1, 8 KO.

Ríos por su parte, que ahora tiene una hoja de servicios con 30 triunfos y sin derrotas, aseguró que subirá a las 140 libras, y se atrevió a decir “Abril no vino a pelear”, y luego comentó: “Abril tiene un estilo raro, aguantó mucho. Pienso que el referee debió penalizarlo, pero no lo hizo. El no hacer el peso no me drenó, me siento bien físicamente. No fue mi mejor pelea esta noche, pero me complace mi demostración. 140 es a donde voy, 140 aquí voy”.
