Sources from Colombia have reported Colombian boxing promoter and agent Billy Chams passed away Sunday in Barranquilla at the age of 63. Chams was admitted to a clinic three days ago with health complications from cancer. Chams was an important part to the Colombia boxing landscape promoting 17 world champions through his company Cuadrilatero, including Rafael Pineda, Ricardo Torres, Fidel Bassa and Tomas Molinares among others. Chams recently was part of the conquest of the IBF world title by Jonathan Romero last February. Services will be held Monday.
