The Russian Dmitry Bivol and the American Samuel Clarkson passed the weighing ceremony and are ready to fight for the WBA Light heavyweight Interim title on Friday in Maryland, United States.
Division champion, Bivol hit 174.6 pounds on this second defense since he won the title in May 2016 when he unanimously defeated Dominican Feliz Varela, and previously knocking out New Zealander Robert Berridge in his first defense.
Clarkson stopped the scale at 173.4 pounds. This will be the first time American fights for an interim title, but he has a stream of nine victories, which makes him a strong opponent.
The Russian record is 9-0, 7 KO’s , 78% of KO’s, the American has a record of 19-3, 12 KO’s, 55%.

The World Boxing Association officials committee appointed Havey Dock from New Jersey as the referee, and Lynne Carter from Pennsylvania as judge. Shivana Inalsingh will supervise the actions. Maryland Commission appointed two local judges, John Gradowski and Don Risher.
