The bout for the World Boxing Association (WBA) Super Light Heavyweight Championship between Dmitry Bivol and Gilberto Ramirez was confirmed for next November 5 at Etihad Arena, Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates.
Matchroom Boxing made the mandatory fight official and both undefeated fighters will star in one of the best fights the division has to offer today.
The bout will mark the return of Dmitry Bivol, who has made a huge leap in popularity around the world after defeating Saul Alvarez last May and retaining his 175-pound crown. Now he will face his official challenger as he looks to remain the champion and one of the best pound-for-pound fighters in the world today.
El “Zurdo” Ramirez is facing the opportunity he has been looking for for a long time. The Mazatlan native will be looking for the black and gold crown against a tough opponent, but Ramirez is confident in his abilities to dethrone him.
Bivol has 20 wins, no losses and 11 knockouts. Ramirez has 44 wins and 30 knockouts.
