The World Boxing Association champion, Dmitry Bivol, will make the sixth defense of his title on November 24th at the Hard Rock Hotel & Casino in Atlantic City, New Jersey, against Canadian Jean Pascal in a fight card mounted by Main Events and World of Boxing.
Bivol (14-0, 11 KOs), who has been knocking on the door of the 10 best pound-for-pound fighters in the world, comes into the fight having defeated Sullivan Barrera and Isaac Chilemba and aims to close with a flourish in 2018 via a third successful defense on the HBO network.
“This fight is very important to me. All boxers dream of being champions, with being the unified champion. It’s a great dream that I have, like Oleksandr Usyk,” said Bivol, who hopes to emulate the Ukrainian, also a WBA champion, but at the Cruiserweight limit.
Pascal (33-5-1, 20 knockouts) has knocked out his two most recent rivals and wants to make it clear that he is far from having finished his career in pugilism. His last defeat was by majority decision against Eleider Alvarez in June of 2017 and he knows that this could be his last chance to become a champion once again.
