Riyadh Season: Bivol vs Zinad on June 1

Dmitry Bivol lived a great 2022. He was named fighter of the year, won both of his fights in the span and climbed up the pound-for-pound list. However, the Russian is a man of challenges and does not stop, so he is thinking about facing Saul Alvarez for the second time in 2023.

Several media have reported that there are talks for the second fight and Bivol himself talked about it, with the news that it could be at 168 pounds.

The first fight was at 175 pounds, where Bivol is champion and Canelo moved up to face him. The Champion has said on many occasions that his motivation is to get more belts and moving down to super middleweight would give him that opportunity.

“Of course it will be enough motivation for me to make 168,” Bivol told Boxing Social. “But I need to think about it more. I wasn’t 168 for many years. I didn’t make this weight. But if this fight is possible, OK , let’s talk about it. Let’s do it. I think I would be ready.” Bivol said in an interview with Boxing Social media.

Bivol has not yet announced what his next step will be, but it is expected that in the second half of the year the new confrontation with the Mexican could take place.
