Kell Brook and Michael Zefara had no problem overcoming the scales before their World Boxing Association (WBA) elimination bout at the super welterweight limit.
Both fighters will go to the ring this Saturday at the Arena in Sheffield, England, with the intention of prevailing and winning an opportunity for a world title shot in the short term.
Brook, who is in his hometown, came in at 150.6 pounds on the scale while Zefara, a native of Australia, stepped onto the scale at 153.3 pounds, both below the 154-pound limit required by the division.
The fight has had great media interest due to the return to the ring of Brook, a local idol who seeks to return to elite level status after two defeats against Gennady Golovkin and Erroll Spence Jr. The winner will rise in the WBA rankings and will be closer to the opportunity for fighting for the world title.
Brook has a record of 37 wins, 2 losses, and 26 knockouts while Zefara has a record of 25 wins, 2 losses and 14 finishes before the distance.
