WBA Super Bantamweight Super Champion Celestino “Pelenchin” Caballero will be making the seventh defense of his title when he takes on WBA # 14 world ranked Jeffrey “Mongoose” Mathebula from South Africa next April 30, in Panama City, Panama, during the re opening of Arena Roberto Duran.

The official announcement was recently made by Panama`s Sport Director Ramon Cardoze who represent the local government, WBA Executive Vice President Gilberto Jesus Mendoza and promoter Rogelio Espiño, CEO of  Promociones y Eventos del Istmo who will co promote the card along with Duran Brothers Promotions represented by the living leyend and boxing hall of famer Roberto “Manos de Piedra” Duran.

Caballero who captured the WBA Super Bantamweight championship on October 4, 2006 when he destroyed Thailand`s hero Somsak Sitchatchawal, has become one of the most avoided fighters in the 122 pounds division. Last November 21, he defeated Steve Molitor and unified the IBF Super Bantamweight title.

“I`m proud to fight at home once again. It`s a pleasure for me to be part of the main event at the re opening of Arena Roberto Duran. I haven`t seen Mathebula`s fights, but when he step in the ring he will know who I am” said Caballero.

The co- main event will featured WBA # 10 world ranked Colombian Nilson “El Martillo” Tapia defending his WBA Fedelatin Super Welterweight title against former world contender Alfonso “Huracan” Mosquera from Panama.
