Saul “Canelo” Alvarez was named Boxer of the Month by the World Boxing Association (WBA) thanks to his November 6 victory over Caleb Plant, which made him the undisputed Super Middleweight champion. 

Alvarez came into the bout with the WBA Super Championship, the WBO and WBC belts in his possession. He only had to win the IBF belt, but for that he had to defeat the undefeated Plant.

The Mexican got a spectacular knockout in the tenth round after connecting an upper to the American’s face and put the cherry on top of a great performance at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas. 

“Canelo reaffirmed himself as the best pound-for-pound fighter in the world today and the face of the sport. It was the third defense of his WBA crown at 168 pounds and his 57th lifetime victory, while he has 1 loss and 2 draws.
