With about three weeks to go before Saul Alvarez and Caleb Plant fight for the WBA super middleweight championship and the WBC, IBF and WBO belts, the atmosphere is heating up.
Canelo has a clear objective and he needs to beat Plant to achieve his goal. He owns three belts and only needs the IBF’s of his opponent. Should he win the fight he will the become undisputed champion against an opponent against whom everything has become a bit personal.
“I’m going to knock this guy out in less than 8 rounds, easy,” Alvarez assured in an interview with Brian Campbell and Luke Thomas, hosts of the Morning Kombat show.
The Mexican based his statement on his greater experience and the opponnnts he has fought, which are at a better level: “I know what I need to do, I know him. He is a good fighter, but I know my skills and I know that my experience will be decisive”.
The best pound-for-pound fighter of today said that Plant has crossed the line in several statements and he made that known during the interview. He said that was the main reason for the incident that took place a few weeks ago, when punches were exchanged at a press conference in Los Angeles.
Las Vegas is getting ready to enjoy a great 168-pound bout on November 6 and witness the winner to become the absolute champion of the category.
