Former Light Flyweight champion Hugo “El Increible” Cazares won a clear
unanimous desicion over Roberto “La Araña” Vasquez to claim the vacant WBA
Fedelatin Super Flyweight title, on Tuesday night in a full house at the
Atlapa Convention Center in Panama City. From the first round Cazares
establish the rhythm with his speed and with a clear left hook Vasquez was sent to the deck. In the second stanza Vasquez came on stronger and seems to take control of the fight and just a few seconds before the end of the round, the Mexican landed a powerful right hand and sent Vasquez to the deck for second time in the fight.
As the fight began to approach the middle rounds, both fighters took their
turns trading combinations, Cazares continued his countering style and
speed, setting up punches and moving side to side from his opponent left
hand, while Vasquez`s pressure while attacking, until he dropped Cazares
with a powerful left hook in the eight round.
The eleventh and last round saw Vasquez pressing but Casarez did his
homework on the earlier rounds as he was in command in most of the rounds. Scores were 107-101.5, 107-102, 105.5-103.
In the co main event, Freider Viloria captured the vacant WBA Fedelatin Featherweight title with a one side unanimous desicion over Renan “Bam Bam” Acosta. Scores were 107.5-101.5, 105.5-102.5, 105-102.
Former world contender and current WBA Featherweigh # 15 world ranked Whiber “Showtime” Garcia won a unaninous desicion against brave Nicaraguan Santos Martines, at the end of the fight the scores were 79-75, 78-75, and 79-73.
WBA Flyweight # 3 world ranked Panama based, Jean Piero Perez stopes Abraham Irias, winning a third round KO.
Marlon Chavarria who came as the underdog in the fight, upset WBA Minimumweight # 8 world ranked Carlos Campos with a one side unanimous desicion. Scores were 78-73, 77-74, 76-75.
Ambar Fajardo and Ogleidys Suarez from Venezuela, made a three round exhibition bout.
