Cesar Juarez had his big night at the Whitesands Events Center in Plant City, Florida, with a unanimous decision victory over Dennis “Martillo” Contreras, taking the World Boxing Association (WBA) Fedecentro featherweight crown from him.
In a fight of Mexican warriors, Juarez got cards of 96-94, 96-94 and 97-93, which prevented Contreras from defending the regional title for the third time since he won it in August 2020.
It was a very entertaining bout in which there was a lot of exchange but the weight of Juarez’s hands was decisive in tipping the scales to his side.
At 30 years of age, the veteran won his second fight in a row and gets a title that helps him get his career on track. It was the 27th victory for him, for 10 defeats and 20 knockouts. Contreras, on the other hand, has a record of 24 wins, 11 losses, 1 draw and 22 knockouts.
