On Saturday night in Ireland, under the lights of Dublin’s 3Arena, two titans of women’s boxing put on a spectacular show. In a majority judges’ decision, Chantelle Cameron defeated local Katie Taylor and retained her World Boxing Association super lightweight belt along with the other organizations’.

This bout was highly anticipated by the boxing fans since Katie Taylor announced the decision to move up in class for this challenge after the suspension of her rematch against Puerto Rican Amanda Serrano.

From the 3Arena it has been possible to enjoy a clash of maximum impact and drama to be one of the most competitive fights that Katie Taylor has starred.

With very even passages where the exchanges of blows full of adrenalin, Cameron was able to take some advantages showing more aggressive and overwhelming, forcing Taylor to fight in retreat. But their hearts and skills put both fighters in the center of the ring from the middle of the fight.

It was not only a fight of tension but also of entertainment, since the technical conditions of both women were a pleasure to watch: the technical display in attack and defense with all the variations. It was a competitive luxury of two of the best pound for pound of the moment.

The English boxer Chantelle Cameron managed to retain her position as undisputed champion of the 140 and raised her numbers to 18 wins with 8 knockouts, while Taylor, who continues to be queen of the 135, took the first loss of her professional career and now has 22 wins, 6 of which have been quick decisions, and only 1 setback.
