Jermell Charlo and Brian Castaño continue to raise expectations for their fight next Saturday at the AT&T Center in San Antonio, Texas. This Thursday they were face to face at a press conference to talk about their fight for the World Boxing Association (WBA) super welterweight super championship and the WBC, IBF and WBO belts.
Charlo owns three of the four belts (except the WBO) and is at the top of the division. But he faces the other 154-pound WBO champion in a winner-take-all fight.
The American said he is totally focused on winning and that this fight is a dream come true for him as he has always gone for the big ones. He warned Castaño to stay away from his fists on Saturday night if he doesn’t want to get knocked out.
For his part, the Argentinian assured that he will steal the show this weekend and that he will surprise in one of the most important fights in recent years for his country and for Latin America in general.
Now there is only one step left before the fight and that is the weigh-in ceremony this Friday. Once the weigh-in is over, both fighters will be ready to step into the ring. Charlo has 34 wins, 1 loss and 18 knockouts while Castaño has 17 wins, 1 draw and 12 knockouts.
