Souleymane Cissokho and Roberto Valenzuela are getting ready for their WBA Intercontinental super welterweight title fight this Saturday, and this Tuesday they attended the open training session that is part of the promotion of the fight.
They will step into the ring at the Pechanga Arena in San Diego, California, as part of the Matchroom Boxing event, in which Roman “Chocolatito” Gonzalez will face Julio Cesar Martinez in the main event.
Cisshoko, who is from Senegal and a French national, has been progressing in his career and has become a figure with good victories in the 154-pound division. The regional champion did some work together with his trainer and shared his training session with the press.
Valenzuela arrives from Mexico looking to impose his hard-hitting style and give Cissokho problems. The Sonora native has a good record and fought four fights in 2021, so he is in good shape for the fight.
The next step will be the press conference, while on Friday will be the weigh-in, the last step before the fight. Cissokho has a record of 14 wins, no losses and 9 knockouts, while Valenzuela has 23 wins, 2 losses and 19 knockouts.
