Dervis Colina became the new Fedebol champion of the World Boxing Association by defeating via knockout in the first round Ernesto Spain in the first bout of the “Explosive Test” card, held at Sugar Baby Rojas Coliseum in Barranquilla, Colombia.
In a duel of undefeated Venezuelans for the regional super middleweight belt, Colina gave no respite to Spain, who was aggressive and attacked in the first minute of the fight.
A straight right from Colina surprised his opponent, who went to the canvas in the final part of the assault and although he rose to continue fighting, was very dizzy and was easy prey for the winner who hit him several times on the ropes until the referee had to stop the fight at 2:39 of the first round.
Colina left the ring with 11 wins, no defeats and 8 knockouts. For his part, Spain lost his undefeated record and now has 13 wins, 1 loss and 12 knockouts.
