British Conor Benn is one of the young fighters with the best projection in the world. The British fighter will once again defend his World Boxing Association (WBA) continental welterweight championship next Saturday, April 16, this time against Chris Van Heerden.

The fight will take place at the Manchester Arena and will be the main event organized by Matchroom on English soil. Benn has faced several good fighters in his recent fights and now he will face another experienced opponent.

The 34-year-old South African Van Heerden has beaten several interesting opponents in his career and has faced the likes of Errol Spence Jr. (who he lost to) and Jaron Ennis, a fight that ended in a no decision.

For Benn it will be another important challenge. The 25-year-old fighter is coming off of a knockout victory over Chris Algieri and has previously shown great things with wins over Samuel Vargas, Adrian Granados and Sebastian Formella.

The fight will be a great test for the local fighter, while for the African it will be an excellent opportunity to get back to winning ways and move up in the rankings.
