The city of Dallas declared April 16 as “Errol Spence Day”. A recognition to the sports career of one of the best pound-for-pound fighters in boxing and who will challenge the World Boxing Association (WBA) super champion, Yordenis Ugás, this Saturday in Arlington, Texas.

The New York native has had a great professional career and owns the IBF and WBC belts, now he will seek a third in his difficult unification fight against the Cuban.

The mayor of the city, Eric Johnson, presented an award to the 32-year-old fighter and proclaimed April 16 as his day, a great occasion considering that this Saturday he will make his fight in Texas.

The WBA congratulates Spence for the recognition and is happy for his return after dealing with eye injuries and having to suspend what was to be his fight against Manny Pacquiao last year.
