Daniel Dubois dethroned Trevor Bryan this weekend and is now the new World Boxing Association (WBA) heavyweight champion. The Briton delivered a fourth round knockout to the American at the Jai Alai Casino in Miami, Florida, in a power-punching display on Saturday.
Dubois challenged Bryan in a mandatory fight for the pioneer organization and ended the bout in quick fashion with a hair-raising left hook that sent the former champion to the canvas in dramatic way, never to get up again.
Dubois continues his rise in the boxing world and has now earned the career-important belt that puts him in position to take on the big names in the heavyweight division.
The 24-year-old fighter earned his 18th win, while he has 1 loss and 17 knockouts. Meanwhile, Bryan lost his undefeated record and now has 22 wins, 1 loss and 15 knockouts.
