On Tuesday, January 25, it was announced that the fight between Juan Francisco Estrada and Roman Gonzalez was cancelled because the former tested positive Covid 19 a few days ago and has not been able to train, which did not allow him to be ready for March 5, the date of the fight.
Estrada and Gonzalez were supposed to fight for the World Boxing Association (WBA) Super Flyweight Super Championship and the WBC belt but the Mexican’s health problems will not allow him to complete the trilogy at this time.
“Unfortunately I tested positive for Covid-19 a few days ago and won’t be able to fight in March. We are fine and hope to get over it soon to bring you more great fights soon. Thanks for the support and blessings,” Estrada said on his social media.
Now “Chocolatito” will fight Julio Cesar Martinez in the main fight on March 5, in San Diego, as the main event of the Matchroom Boxing evening.
