The boxers who will be part of the historic event in Aguascalientes, Mexico this Friday, June 11th, where boxers from the Cuban National Team will fight professional boxers for the first time, all made weight on Thursday, June 10th and are ready to step into the ring.

The main fight of the night will be between former world champion Miguel “Títere” Vásquez and Andy Cruz, former AIBA World Champion on two occasions. However, on the island’s National Team side, names such as Julio Cesar La Cruz, Arlen Lopez, and Roniel Iglesias also attract attention.

Since there are no titles at stake, the regulatory authorities of the fight allowed a small tolerance. The weights were the following:

Heavyweight: Rolando “El Niño” Soto Jr. 272 lbs (6-0, 5KOs) (USA) vs. Dainier Peró 235 lbs (CUB) (Pan American Champion and AIBA World Youth Champion).

Cruiserweight: Julián “Pitbull Jr” Fernádez 203 pounds (MEX) (14-3, 11KOs) vs. Julio César La Cruz 204 pounds (CUB) (2016 Olympic Champion, 2015 AIBA World Champion).

Light Heavyweight: Oscar “Monster” Riojas 177 pounds (USA) (39-9) vs. Arlén López 177 pounds (CUB) (2016 Olympic Champion, 2015 AIBA World Champion).

Super Middleweight: Alfonso Florez 167 pounds (VEN) (8-1, 6KO) vs. Yoel Feliciano 164 pounds (CUB) (Cuban National Champion).

Super Bantamweight: Emmanuel “Veneno” Dominguez 120.7 lbs (MEX) (26-9-2, 18KOs) vs. Yosbani Veitía 122 lbs (CUB) (AIBA 2019 World Champion, and 2011, 2015 and 2019 Pan American Games Silver Medalist).

Featherweight: Mario “Triturador” Diaz 125 pounds (MEX) (18-3, 7 KO) vs. Lazaro Alvarez 126 pounds (CUB) (Bronze Medalist 2012 and 2016 Olympic Games, Pan American 2015 and 2019 Champion).

Super Welterweight: Jose Miguel Borego 153 pounds (MEX) (18-3, 16 KOs) vs. Roniel Iglesias 151 pounds (2012 Olympic Champion, 2015 and 2019 Pan American Champion).

Super Lightweight: Miguel “Títere” Vásquez 140 pounds (43-10, 17 KOs) vs. Andy Cruz 138 pounds (AIBA 2015 and 2019 World Champion, and Pan American Champion in 2015 and 2019).
