The World Boxing Association (WBA) Super Bantamweight Champion, Brandon Figueroa, will face Mexican Luis Nery this Saturday at the Dignity Health Sports Park in Carson, California, in a unification match.
The American will clash against Nery, who is the WBC Champion and one of the most prominent names in the division. The match will be promoted by TGB Promotions and kicks off a season of top-notch matches from Showtime and Premier Boxing Champions.
Figueroa, nicknamed “The Heartbreaker,” is 24 years old and has been a WBA Champion since April 2019 when he defeated Venezuelan Yonfrez Parejo by TKO. He last fought in September when he defeated Damien Vázquez by KO in the 10th round and is now ready for this long-awaited duel against Nery.
“Pantera,” on the other hand, is a 26-year-old fighter with a great boxing style and southpaw guard who recently moved up the ranks after having a good bantamweight internship.
Both fighters are undefeated in their careers. In Figueroa’s case, he has 21 wins, 1 draw, and 16 KOs, while Nery has 31 wins, 24 of them by KO.
