Gabriel Flores Jr. defeated Julian Rodarte to win the World Boxing Association (WBA) Continental USA lightweight belt.

The local fighter was the headliner in Stockton, California, and came away with a split decision of 98-92, 98-92 and 94-96.

Flores has come back well since his defeat to Giovanni Cabrera in July 2022. He came back last year to see Derrick Murray and now takes this win over Rodarte that puts him on a hot streak.

The 23-year-old fighter continues to improve and evolve in his boxing, in addition to having obtained this regional belt that helps him continue to gain relevance in the category.

His record now stands at 23 wins, 2 losses and 8 knockouts, while Rodarte left his record at 19 wins, 1 loss, 2 draws and 8 knockouts.

Schofield retains regional belt by disqualification
