American prospect Raymond Ford will make the second defense of his World Boxing Association (WBA) Continental featherweight title against undefeated Edward Vazquez at the Footprint Center in Phoenix, Arizona.
Ford has shown good things in just over a dozen fights and at 22 years of age is making his way into the 126-pound division. He won the Pioneer Continental belt on August 14 by defeating Reece Bellotti by technical knockout in three rounds. He returned to the ring on November 27 to defend the belt against Felix Caraballo with another technical knockout and is now looking for his second defense.
A native of New Jersey and a southpaw guard, Ford wants to continue climbing in his career and overcome different obstacles that will allow him to fight for a world title in the mid-term.
The opponent he will face will not be easy. Vazquez is undefeated in 11 fights and is 26 years old. He has defeated opponents with good records and has fought recurrently in the last two years.
The undefeated duel has Ford with 11 wins and 1 draw, while Vazquez has won all 11 of his professional fights.
