Uzbekistan’s Bakhromjon Fozilov scored a unanimous decision victory over Argentina’s Diego Ramirez last weekend to become the new World Boxing Association (WBA) Asian middleweight champion.
The Uzbek claimed victory after 10 rounds at the Renaissance Hotel in Tashkent, one of the country’s best-known boxing venues.
Fozilov won his seventh consecutive fight and continues to improve in his career. The 25-year-old fighter is a prospect who has come from strength to strength in his career and winning the belt will help him get better opportunities.
In the same event, welterweight Mirzakamol Nematov won a unanimous decision over veteran Julius Indongo in an eight-round bout to earn WBA East Asia at 147 lbs.
