WBA granted 7-day extension for Wood-Conlan negotiations

The World Boxing Association (WBA) informs all promoters and sports personalities that all matters related to the North America Boxing Association (NABA) will be managed by Gary Shaw starting next month.

Mr. George Martinez, who was a directorate member for many years, and chaired the WBA North American Boxing Asssociation -NABA-, resigned his position on October 13, 2020. The Canadian has been appointed as the new IBF Rankings Committee Chairman.

Pursuant to WBA Bylaws, article 1.03, the organization may be allowed to execute plans and programs to develop boxing under high standards and safety measures in accordance with the regions defined worldwide.

North America is a very active and important area for the WBA throughout history, for that reason the WBA is working to re-establish relations and make effective communication channels available to promoters through the WBA’s chief of staff, Gary Shaw.

The WBA sent a letter to promoters, boxers and managers in North America who work hand in hand with the WBA to inform them that the upcoming rankings, championships and everything related to the regional body will be uploaded and published on the official website of the pioneering body next October 1, 2021.

Any doubts, requests or suggestions will be handled by Shaw through the e-mail gshaw@wbaboxing.com.
