WBA President, Gilberto Jesús Mendoza, participated in the online event “The Law of Boxing”, hosted by the University of Miami and addressed to all its students, where he was accompanied by various boxing personalities.
This Thursday night, the leader of the oldest boxing organization in the world had the opportunity to talk to the students via Zoom. He was accompanied by the legendary promoter Don King, the manager and lawyer Tony Gonzalez, the lawyer Alejandro Brito, and Telemundo representative Alex Zabala.
The discussion focused on the role of promoters, managers, lawyers, and the WBA in different aspects of the boxer’s career, especially in the signing of contracts, promotional events, legal representation and show management.
As the University of Miami announced in a press release this week, the students who connected to the event were very interested in knowing the participants’ impressions about the topic and asked many interesting questions to Mendoza and the rest of the speakers.
The President said he was grateful and satisfied to have participated in such a significant event and to have seen so many young people interested in the world of boxing. He had the opportunity to approach this sport from a perspective that is little known by the public yet very important to those involved in boxing.
