Gilberto Jesús Mendoza, World Boxing Association vice-president travelled to Cerete, Colombia, for the 122 lbs interim title fight between Liliana Palmera and the Venezuelan Alys Sánchez, to show his support on behalf of the oldest female boxing organization.

In in his visit to Cerete, he stressed the support of the Mayor of Cerete Francisco Padilla to this discipline: “the support of the local authorities is vital. In addition, the audience greeting in the Coliseo Mario de Leon was spectacular. This is vital for the development of women’s boxing”, said the Vice President of the WBA.
The desire of the institution and in particular of Gilberto Jesús Mendoza is to continue the development of this discipline not only in Colombia but in everywhere in the world.
