Uzbekistan’s Shakhram Giyasov and American Harold Calderon will meet in a World Boxing Association (WBA) welterweight eliminator fight this Saturday at the Smoothie King Center in New Orleans.
The two rated fighters of the pioneer body will have an undefeated battle in the event organized by the Matchroom Boxing company this weekend in Louisiana.
Giyasov is one of the good Uzbek fighters who has burst onto the professional boxing scene. The 29-year-old southpaw is undefeated and has adapted well to welterweight after having spent part of his career at 140 pounds. Last May he defeated Christian Gomez by unanimous decision and now he wants to continue his streak.
For his part, Calderon has been professional since 2013 and has worked hard to earn this opportunity. The 35-year-old fighter knows what he is up against and wants to make a splash in this high-profile bout.
Giyasov has 13 wins, 9 of them by knockout, while Calderon has 27 wins, no losses and 18 knockouts.
