World Boxing Association Super Middleweight champion, Gennady Golovkin, and challenger Saul “Canelo” Alvarez finished the promotional tour for their fight on September 16th at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas.
Los Angeles was the last stop of a tour that passed through London and New York to warm up the public and prepare it for a promising battle. The final day was especially extensive and both fighters visited several local media, some together and others separately, to talk to different journalists and radio and television presenters on what the fight will be.
“This is going to be a very tough fight against Golovkin. There are fights that are difficult, and this is one of them. I’m going to prepare like I always do at 100 percent. I’m happy we are giving the fans the fight they wanted and demanded on September 16th as that is a great motivation to me. This is a very important fight to all of Mexican fans, and I am going to train as hard as I always do”, said Canelo Alvarez.
On the other hand, Gennady Golovkin said: “This press tour has been going great, I’ve been waiting 20 years to be in a fight like this. Canelo is a different guy than anyone I have every faced. He is a huge fighter and a great champion. On September 16th, we will both put on a great boxing show”.
The day closed with the presentation of the movie “I’m Boxing”, with the two gladiators as guests of honor. The two spoke to the press and walked on the red carpet in Los Angeles.
Once the promotion tour is completed, both will concentrate on training to reach the best possible condition for the fight.
