The former World Boxing Association (WBA) super featherweight world champion will make his comeback on March 3 in his native Maracaibo, Venezuela, against Dominican Henry Delgado in a fight that will have the Fedelatin title of the category at stake.
Gutierrez lost the world title last August 22 when he lost by unanimous decision against the Dominican Hector Garcia, current champion. After a break, he returned to the gym and now feels ready to start a new path in his career.
The Venezuelan was champion since January 2021, when he defeated René Alvarado and took the crown from him, while he made a defense against the same opponent in August of that year and in his second exhibition he lost to García.
His opponent is a good fighter with a great record who wants to hurt Gutierrez’s comeback. Delgado has seven wins in a row and will be making his first international fight, which is a big step in his career.
Gutierrez has 26 wins, 4 losses, 1 draw and 20 knockouts. Delgado has 20 wins, 1 loss and 14 knockouts.
