The Venezuelan former WBA world champion Eidy Moya celebrates today another year of life and the World Boxing Association family wishes him happy birthday.
He was born in Barcelona in 1974. He was an outstanding amateur boxer. Began training boxing when he was 11 years old, won seven times the national championship and at the age of 19 he won the bronze medal in the Central American and Caribbean Games. He had attended Barcelona Olympic Games the previous years.
He finished with amateur career with the record of 179-9, and debuted in professional in 1994. In 2000 he won the WBA bantamweight title and the following year he defeated Adan Vargas for the vacant title which he kept until he fought with Jhonny Bredhal on April 19, 2002 and lost by KO. He retired two year later.
At present he is a boxing trainer in his home town.
