Britain’s Terri Harper and Argentina’s Yamila Abellaneda will fight for the vacant World Boxing Association (WBA) Intercontinental lightweight title at the Nottingham Arena, this Saturday.

It will be one of the most exciting bouts of the Matchroom Boxing show and will mark Harper’s return after her most recent loss to Alycia Baumgardner last November.

The former world champion suffered a tough knockout and also lost her super featherweight world crowns on that occasion. Now she will try her luck in the 135 lbs. category and intends to start a new path to become champion again.

Her first challenge at this weight will be the South American fighter, who will have her first experience outside her country. At 28 years of age, she has a great opportunity in front of her and although the odds do not favor her, she has all the motivation to try to surprise.

Harper has a record of 11 wins, 1 loss, 1 draw and 6 knockouts, while Abellaneda has 13 wins, 4 losses, 1 draw and 3 knockouts.
