World Boxing Association (WBA) super welterweight champion Terri Harper will defend her belt this Saturday against Croatia’s Ivana Habazin at the Manchester Arena as part of the Matchroom Boxing event that will feature Lara-Wood 2 as the featured fight.
Harper was originally scheduled to fight last Saturday against Cecilia Braekhus but the challenger suffered a cold and was unable to step into the ring in Ireland. Harper will now make her defense against Habazin in an interesting bout between two experienced fighters.
The champion is going for her first defense of the title. She became champion last September 24 when she defeated Hannah Rankin by unanimous decision in Nottingham and now she wants to make her first defense in such an important event.
The Croatian has ample experience and has fought against rivals such as Claressa Shields or Cecilia Braekhus. She has been preparing for a great opportunity and now she has it in front of her, so she will not miss it.
Harper has 13 wins, 1 loss, 1 draw and 6 knockouts. Habazin has a record of 21 wins, 4 losses and 7 knockouts.
