He will be face to face with David Griman 19 years after they battled for the title
WBA Press. October 28.- During the WBA 91st Annual Convention held in Jakarta, Indonesia, until November 3, there will be a reunion after 19 years.
Among the special guests for this 91st gathering, we will have former champions, Japanese Iroki Ioka and Venezuelan David Griman, who fought for the WBA Flyweight 19 years ago in Osaka.
Ioka was champion in four weight divisions with a record of 42 wins, 17 KO’s, 8 losses and 1 draw. He became WBA Champion in December 1991 when he defeated Myung-Woo Yuh, and whom he lost his belt with in 1992, after 2 title defenses in 1992.
Ioka and Griman clashed on May 21, 1993 for the WBA Flyweight title, in Osaka, home of the Japanese, and Griman win the fight by TKO in eight rounds.
At present, both boxers train young talents and help them to develop.
David Griman should arrive on Sunday afternoon.
Most of the Members of the WBA have already arrived to the Sultan Hotel that will host the event presided by Gilberto Mendoza. The working sessions will begin on Monday October 29th.

Prensa AMB. 28 de octubre.- Durante la 91° Convención Anual de la Asociación Mundial de Boxeo se realizará en la ciudad de Yakarta, Indonesia, hasta el próximo 3 de noviembre, se producirá un reencuentro tras 19 años.
Entre los invitados especiales estará el ex campeón japonés Hiroki Ioka y el ex monarca venezolano David Grimán, quienes se enfrentaron por el título mosca de la AMB hace 19 años en Osaka.
Ioka fue campeón de cuatro divisiones, y tuvo un récord profesional de 42 peleas, 33 ganadas, 17 por nocaut, ocho caídas y un empate. Se convirtió en monarca de la AMB en diciembre de 1991 cuando derrotó a Myung-Woo Yuh ante quien perdería la faja en 1992, después de dos defensas.
Ioka y David Grimán se enfrentaron el 21 de mayo de 1993, en una pelea por el título mosca AMB, realizada en la ciudad de Osaka, cuna del nipón. Grimán resultó ganador del pleito por KOT en el octavo asalto.
Ambos boxeadores se dedican actualmente a entrenar a jóvenes talentos, y brindar el apoyo para su desarrollo.
David Grimán debe llegar al Hotel Sultán la tarde del domingo.
El Hotel Sultán es la sede del evento, donde ya se dejan ver parte de la plana mayor de la AMB, presidida por Gilberto Mendoza. Las sesiones de trabajo comenzarán este lunes 29 de octubre.
