Julius Indongo and Terence Crawford held their public workout this Saturday in Nebraska. Both boxers will fight for the World Boxing Association (WBA) Super Lightweight Title, as well as the rest of the belts.
Indongo, who owns the WBA belt, was the first to go in the ring to show his condition and make some movements in front of the fans. He also talked to the press and expressed his desire to become the undisputed champion at 140 pounds against a challenger as complicated as the American. The African won the right to be in this great fight after beating Ricky Burns and getting the world title, which is why there are high expectations on him for this bout.
“I come with a lot of humility to this fight, I did a great preparation in Namibia and I feel good. If he doesn’t knock me out in the first rounds, it will be very difficult for him to win. I want to win and dedicate the victory to my people”, said Indongo.
After this, it was local Crawford’s turn, who shared the moment with his fans and made an exhibition of his conditions with his trainer. The boxer is only missing the WBA belt and that is a great motivation to win the fight this Saturday.
“My team and I are expecting a tough fight and that is why we prepared very well. Despite how difficult the rival is, I think that with my skills I can win”, Crawford said.
This was the beginning of the activities prior to the fight. The press conference will be held on Thursday, while the weigh-in ceremony will be on Friday.
Both boxers are undefeated and looking to be recognized as the best of their weight class. Indongo has a record of 22 victories and 11 knockouts, while Crawford has a balance 31 wins with 22 knockouts.
